The building had been sitting vacant for several years, and during early planning, they discovered something surprising: a 275-gallon aboveground oil tank tucked away behind the property. A Surprising Discovery The tank hadn’t been used in years, and the owner wasn’t even aware it existed. The property was heated by electricity, not oil, which made the discovery even more unusual. To make matters more interesting, the tank was filled with water instead of oil and wasn’t connected to the building at all. Initially, the owner’s contractor decided to remove the tank.
